Frieling Double-Walled Stainless Steel French Press

A double-walled French press that its maker says is made entirely of 18/10 stainless steel.

Price & availability: $114.95 (17 oz) to $159.95 (44 oz), $139.95 for 36 oz, brushed finish, on direct.frieling.com, checked September 26, 2026.

Why consider it

  • Frieling says the press is crafted entirely from 18/10 stainless steel, with a two-stage filter.
  • The double-walled body and lid keep coffee hot, which Frieling says lasts four times longer than in glass presses.
  • Frieling says every component is dishwasher-safe, and it sells French press replacement parts.

Practical tradeoffs

  • With no paper filter, more of the coffee oils that raise LDL cholesterol reach the cup; in trials, unfiltered coffee raised total and LDL cholesterol.
  • Manual brewing: you heat water separately.
  • It costs more than a glass pour-over.
  • You cannot see how much coffee is left.

Our assessment

This is a manufacturer-document review. We have not used this press.

Frieling states that the press is crafted entirely from 18/10 stainless steel, so by the maker’s account no plastic sits in the brew path. The double wall keeps coffee hot without a warming plate, and the sizes run from 17 to 44 ounces.

The trade is the paper filter. Paper holds back cafestol and kahweol, coffee oils that raise LDL cholesterol, and a French press has none. If you are watching your cholesterol, a paper-filtered method such as a glass pour-over is the easier fit. A French press you already own is fine to keep.
